Home"These are not the colossal landscapes of the
gods. Strauss' digital photographs are pieces of affordable art that one could
live with on a home wall in a typical house.
This landscape art is sized for people, it is in frames small enough for
the viewer not to feel infinitesimal or lost. Here are places familiar that any
one of us could have seen out the car window, at the park, at the beach." Review, Coldwater Journal ********

Hello, and welcome to my world, or the world as I see it. ********
New on the Site
I have some new classic cars and mascots posted in the Auto Motive section now. Also, I have an easier e-commerce site, located at: www.number1artist.com/janesprints which you can toddle over to, and if there are things (which there are, many) on this site you like and want to buy, tell me via email and I'll add them there so you can buy them! It's a little cumbersome, I know but each website host has their strong points...
Surprise!
Well, today I was hanging a show at Caffe Tempo in South Minneapolis, and got to talking with one of the patrons. When he found out who I was he acted as if he had heard my name before, and mentioned that some radio personality (whom he could not remember, on a station he did not remember in the Twin Cities) had apparently seen something of mine (or of another photographer sharing my name) and commented on how good it was.... I have no clue who you are, oh Radio personality, but thanks so much! Positive comments are always appreciated, and really keep me going.
HOT NEWS FLASH!
Those living or traveling in the Northland now have a place to view a cross section of my work. I'm thrilled to say thaat I was invited to hang a show at The Beanery, in Aitkin, MN. Proceeds of any sales there benefit the Jacques Art Center as well as Yours Truly, so, if you will be anywhere in the area, do stop in and see my stuff until March 12, 2006. The coffee there is great, you can get an internet connection there, and they also have really nice wraps for a filling lunch, so it is a fun jaunt from the Metro for the day.

More new things, January 2006
Our family recently traveled from the frozen Northland to the relative paradise of coastal South Carolina. If you peruse the pages of my gallery, you'll see some of the results - Shells, beach fauna, sand, sea, and skies, always skies. These new additions can be found in the Critter, Water, Miscellany, Viewscapes, and initial gallery pages. Snow pictures have begun and the first two are now on the website - a charming green fish house and a scene of the Rum River, north of Milaca from a recent trip up to Aitkin with "The Aviator" which was also just posted on the Critter page. The Aviator is also available in an oval format, with oval matting.

New things, October 05
The leaves have been changing color in these chilly parts, and I have gone regularly to the Mississippi River Gorge to follow their progress. Some of the results are now posted on this site.

Jane's Prints, Birth of a Dream
This page grows from my dream of sharing the way in which I see the world with others, at a reasonable price but one which will allow me to continue putting photos on paper. I work in small format for several reasons, not the least of which is that I cannot at present afford the tech to print photos larger than 8 1/2 by 11 inches. Also, I realize that modern rooms and cubicles, where folks spend their time, are pretty small as a general rule.
